The National Fair Housing Association (NFHA) has conducted a survey of over a thousand bank-owned, foreclosed homes in “black” and “white” neighbourhoods. Unsurprisingly, those in predominantly white areas were more likely to be kept up and marketed, while in poorer racialized neighbourhoods identical properties tended to be run-down, overgrown, and have no “For Sale” signs to speak of.
